On receipt
- Inspect outer box for damage.
- Open immediately upon receipt.
- Ice packs should still be cold or partially frozen.
- Medication vial(s) cool to touch.
- Temperature indicator (if included) should not show out-of-range exposure.
Signs of cold-chain failure
- Ice packs fully melted and warm.
- Medication at room temperature when handled.
- Temperature indicator triggered.
- Visible precipitation in the vial.
- Cloudy or discolored solution.
What to do if cold chain broken
Do not use the medication. Photograph the packaging and indicator if any. Contact the provider immediately. Reputable providers will replace.
Storing after receipt
Refrigerate immediately: 36–46°F (2–8°C). Do not freeze. Use within the beyond-use date on the vial.
